چکیده

Solid waste dump site-based pollution is one of the colossal health concerns globally due to presence cellulose, starch, protein, and lipids, which a perfect nutrient for development biodegrading potential microbes. The current study aimed determine productive microorganisms biodegradation. Ten samples were collected from different areas Karachi sites. identification characterization isolates done by morphological biochemical tests. isolated microbes qualitatively screened action making industrially key bio-enzymes. enzymes producing subjected degradation test 90 days. Changes odor, color weight loss decomposing garbage noted. highest ability in term was shown Aspergillus (SSI14) Bacillus (SSI6). Four metals (zinc sulphate, cadmium chloride, copper sulphate iron sulphate) chosen purpose tolerance minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) microbial strains. Current reported that Zn found be more lethal comparison Cu Fe. Molecular polymerase chain reaction. strains characterized reaction (PCR) followed confirmation product agarose gel electrophoresis. findings can served as baseline data develop apparatus biodegradation management solid waste.

Lysobacter defluvii sp. nov., isolated from municipal solid waste.

A bacterial isolate obtained from soil from a municipal landfill site in India was characterized using a polyphasic taxonomic approach. The colonies of the isolate were found to be yellow and highly mucoid. Comparative analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequence showed that this isolate constitutes a distinct phyletic line within the genus Lysobacter, displaying >3 % sequence divergence with respect...

Isolation and Characterization of Bacteria Isolated from Municipal Solid Waste for Production of Industrial Enzymes and Waste Degradation

Waste generation and its control have taken an important role in our environment. With the doubling of population and changing lifestyle pattern of the inhabitants the quantity of municipal waste generated is increasing in an alarming rate. Most of this waste is subjected to dumping in a specified disposal yard. The greatest challenge to the environmentalists is the eco friendly management of t...

Methane Production from Municipal Solid Waste

Introduction Archaeological investigations of landfills have revealed that biodegradable wastes can be found — virtually intact — 25 years after burial. We know that landfills contain bacteria with the metabolic capability to degrade many of the materials that are common components of municipal refuse. The persistence for decades of degradable materials in the presence of such organisms appears...
